Railroads and Barbed Wire

Remember when,...

...they came here, they stayed here and the red man welcomed them OPEN arms and straight eyes. He OPENly welcomed his newly acquainted white brothers and sisters. The red man shared with his white brothers and sisters their fires, their hominy, their lands and their rivers. The great spirit was alive in the red man and such encouraged an OPEN society. Why was the red man inclined to welcome this stranger into his community?

Hmmm, perhaps this was due for that the red brother had an OPEN heart, an OPEN Mind, and an OPEN spirit.

DANG!

Before it was a tree.
Today it is lumber.
Tomorrow it is a house.
One house?
Nah,..give me a hand full of what do you call it?

Developments and Subdivisions.
Whitewashed Suburbia.

Big Man getting greedy rich many a generation.

They built the railroads, strung up barbed-wire across the plains, and dammed up the rivers. Closing everything. Boxing everything in. Into that little plan of
making profit, making stronger, and making "normal." They ended up sending their red brothers to the rez and setting up "indian boarding schools" with an aim to assimilate them into fitting that ideology that would sustain an economical plan guaranteed to further empower the State.

Man,...

Deceptions abound and it is mostly bourne of the self. You see, the "sell Fish" actually steal from the Selfless. Rather than to break bread and share Fish with the brethren honestly and OPENLY they choose to benefit from those who are most providing by establishing an "open society under which democracy prevails". Demos, populace, common people,...are like moths to a flame.

Now! Now! Now!
Forget Not:

Because he was OPEN to teach his white brothers how to sustain themselves in a land foreign to them, the white man was able to survive and expand his ideology. This ideology came to be that their belief system was righteous, of "The Way", and superior to their "savage" hosts.

*war cry*

OPEN your eyes to the REALITY of your own SOCIETY, and your own HISTORY.
Is it truly an OPEN one? Shall we pull out the lies? The broken treaties? The blood?

...Or might I suggest that you ponder that on your way up yonder hill where the old wise man sits waitin' for his "lessers" to show up asking for breadcrumbs, perhaps then you might realize that the finest pupil is the one who learns from the wise man to go beyond the hills, wherein wisdom may be found.
